Delhiites to pay more for parking in peak-hours from October
People in Delhi would need to pay more for parking in peak hours from next month at commercial centers and even near their houses. Delhi Government would notify "Delhi Parking Rules 2017" by September-end to strengthen and enforce the parking policy provisions. Delhi Government constitutes committee to finalize parking policy
A Delhi Government official said the draft parking policy is almost ready; a special committee would finalize the rules for implementing the policy. Lieutenant-Governor Anil Baijal would then review the rules for approval. The committee, led by World Resources Institute CEO Om Prakash Agarwal, comprises officials of transport department and Delhi Integrated Multi-Modal Transit System, and Centre for Science and Environment's Anumita Roychowdhury.

"The exact parking charges for different categories are yet to be fixed. We will also take into account the suggestions and observations received on the draft parking policy. There has been some stiff resistance to the provision of day-time parking charges in residential areas."
