Delhi: Stall owner stabbed to death for refusing free food
30-year-old Shahbuddin's refusal to give free food to local goons on Friday cost him his life. The incident happened in East Delhi's Gandhi Nagar area. At around 10:30 PM, when he was closing shop, four men stopped him and asked him to serve them food. When he denied them free services, they called two others and stabbed him in the abdomen, killing him.
Earlier, goons ate food and left without paying money
The family alleged they had complained against the accused to the police after they ate food and left the stall, without paying money, five days ago. Shahbuddin's cousin Mohammad Arshad alleged these miscreants visited the stall earlier too and didn't pay money then either. On Friday, a heated argument broke between Shahbuddin and goons. The latter warned him of dire consequences for not serving free food.
Family rushes Shahbuddin to hospital, police register complaint
On hearing Shahbuddin's cries, after he was stabbed multiple times, his family who lived nearby rushed to his help. They took him to a hospital, where he breathed his last. Two of the accused were identified as Mohit and Sunil Pandey. The police registered a case under IPC Section 302 (punishment for murder) on Arshad's statement. One person was arrested from the spot.
