DMRC removes speed restriction for trains as Yamuna River recedes
The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) on Saturday removed the speed restriction for Metro trains while crossing four bridges over the Yamuna River. Announcing the decision in a tweet, the DMRC said all Metro trains were now running at normal speed. The move came as the water level of Yamuna came down to 207.68m on Saturday morning.

Over 25,000 people evacuated amid floods
On Thursday, the DMRC limited the speed of trains to 30kmph over the four bridges due to rising Yamuna water levels. Notably, Yamuna had breached its 45-year record by touching 208.66m earlier this week, flooding key areas of Delhi. The previous record was 207.49m in 1978. Meanwhile, the Delhi government has evacuated more than 25,400 people from the flood-affected areas.
