Delhi: Woman, lover kill husband, his brother for protesting affair
Objecting to an extra-marital relationship cost two brothers their lives. One of them, the husband of the woman involved in the affair, was killed last year, while his brother was killed on Saturday in East Delhi's Ghazipur. The paramours, however, were caught within two days of the second crime. Police said the duo had jointly conspired and planned the double murders.
How things started rolling: when Mohit met Pooja
Pooja Kumari and Mohit Bhati, also married, lived in the same neighborhood of Dadri in UP. They met each other when the 29-year-old used to visit Pooja's husband Mukesh (30), who was a sweeper. Soon, the duo started a physical relationship and became intimate. After some months, Mukesh caught them red-handed and warned Mohit against retaining the relationship. Mukesh also started beating up Pooja.
After murdering Mukesh, Mohit dumped the body on train tracks
After Mukesh's behavior miffed both Pooja (26) and Mohit, they decided to kill him. One day, on some pretext, Mohit asked Mukesh to meet him, and shot him down with a country-made revolver. He then dumped Mukesh's body on railway tracks. Even though Mukesh's brother Manoj had lodged a missing complaint, UP Police couldn't take action as his body was disfigured beyond recognition.
When Mukhes's brother objected, he too met with same fate
After the murder, Manoj brought Pooja and her daughter to their Ghazipur house, but she continued meeting Mohit. Manoj constantly blamed Pooja for his brother's death and warned her to stop the affair. She told this to Mohit, which infuriated him. Both of them again hatched a plan to eliminate the second thorn, Manoj. Before the kill, Pooja detailed out Manoj's routine to Mohit.
Manoj murdered in warehouse, discovered when wife saw blood
On Saturday, Mohit followed Manoj to a godown, where he had gone to fill water in buckets. Upon finding him alone, Mohit shot at Manoj, killing him instantly. When Manoj didn't return, his worried wife Seema went to the warehouse and found blood seeping out of a tiny hole. Soon, she discovered the body and informed the police.
The arrest: Mohit confessed, named Pooja, leading cops to her
Mohit was arrested on Sunday based on a tip-off. He has apparently confessed to the crime. He also revealed details about the murders and named Pooja as his co-conspirator. His confession helped the cops nab Pooja the next day.
