Each child given a school bag with some books, clothes
At the event, each child was given a school bag with some books and clothes, police added. The rescue operation by the Crime Branch and the NGO was conducted between November 1 and 14, said Rajiv Ranjan, Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime).
All children belonged to economically backward strata
Making observations on the rescued boys, Ranjan said, some were residents of Bihar and UP. Some had been abandoned, while others had left home after being scolded by family members. Most of them had boarded trains without tickets and had reached railway stations in Delhi. Further, all children belonged to economically backward strata of society and almost all were school dropouts, he noted.
