Delhi: Upset over CBSE Class-10 results, three students commit suicide
Hours after the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) declared the class 10 results, three students committed suicide in different parts of Delhi. A student of MR Vivekananda Model School in Dwarka was found hanging at his home in Kakrola on Tuesday. 17-year-old Rohit Kumar Meena had scored 59%. The police didn't find any suicide note from the spot.
Meena played with his brother before taking the extreme step
DCP Shibhesh Singh said Meena didn't speak to anyone and went to play with his younger brother on the first floor. Later, he left his brother alone and at around 3:30 PM, hanged himself from the door-frame of the drawing room with his mother's dupatta. He was rushed to a hospital, where he was declared brought dead.
A Ryan International School student hanged herself too
A 15-year-old student of Ryan International School, Vasant Kunj, committed suicide by hanging herself from the ceiling fan of her home. She was upset about scoring 70%, worried that she won't get admitted to science stream in Class XI. She was rushed to Fortis hospital and was declared brought dead. DCP Milind Dumbre revealed the girl's father is an officer with the Enforcement Directorate.
In Dabri, another girl takes her life by slitting wrists
Meanwhile, in Dabri, a 16-year-old girl from the School of Open Learning slit her wrists and then hung herself from a ceiling fan at her residence. The girl was distressed for failing to clear the Mathematics and Science papers. No suicide note was found from the spot. This time, 86.70% students cleared the CBSE Class 10 exams.
