CBSE denies paper leak rumors, warns against spreading misinformation

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has categorically denied allegations of paper leaks during the ongoing 2025 board exams.
The board dismissed these rumors as "baseless and intended to create unnecessary panic among students and parents."
These unfounded claims have been making rounds on social media platforms such as YouTube, Facebook, and X (formerly Twitter).

CBSE assures fair conduct of exams, warns against misinformation
The CBSE has assured that strong arrangements have been made to ensure smooth and fair conduct of the examinations.
The exams, which started on February 15 and will continue till April 4, include around 44 lakh students from 8,000 schools in India and abroad.
On the first day itself, over 23 lakh students appeared for their exams at 7,842 centers across the globe.
Legal action
CBSE collaborates with law enforcement against misinformation spreaders
The CBSE said it is keeping a close eye on the situation and coordinating with law enforcement agencies to nab and prosecute those spreading false information.
Students caught indulging in such activities could be penalized under CBSE's Unfair Means rules and relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
The punishment could extend to the cancelation of their current exams and those of the next three years.

Meanwhile, parents have been advised to tell their children not to interact or believe in unverified information.
The CBSE stressed that all stakeholders should depend only on official communications on its website (www.cbse.gov.in) for authentic updates.
The Board has warned that legal action will be initiated against anyone found responsible for spreading fake news.

To maintain the sanctity of the exams, the board is conducting these exams with heightened security measures in place.
This includes CCTV monitoring, a strict dress code, and specific instructions for students regarding what items are permitted inside the exam hall.
Additionally, the guidelines outline which items are prohibited, the rules against unfair means practices, and the potential penalties for violations.
