After unveiling the super-affordable 'Desh Ka Smartphone' Redmi 5A, starting at Rs. 5,999, Xiaomi is now giving away Rs. 500crore gift to fans, thanking them for making Xiaomi the No.1 Smartphone Brand in India. First 50 lakh Redmi 5A (2GB+16GB) buyers will get Rs. 1,000 off, bringing it down to Rs. 4,999. Here's how you can get it for as low as Rs. 3,999!
Offer applicable only to the base model
Xiaomi Vice-President and India Managing Director announced the special offer on Redmi 5A. The device was launched in two variants; the 2GB RAM+32GB ROM model is originally priced at Rs. 5,999 (without discount) while the Rs. 3GB+32GB variant costs Rs. 6,999. It comes in Dark Grey, Gold, and Rose Gold colors. It goes on sale on 7 December via Mi.com, Flipkart, and offline channels.
How to get Redmi 5A for Rs. 3,999?
Xiaomi is offering Rs. 1,000 discount for early birds, while Reliance Jio is offering Rs. 1,000 cash-back to all buyers. Under Xiaomi-Jio Better Together Offer, customers get Redmi 5A 2GB effectively at Rs. 3,999 and the 3GB variant at Rs. 5,999. However, buyers need to subscribe to Jio's special Rs. 199 monthly plan for one year; it offers 1GB 4G-data/day and unlimited calling.
What does Redmi 5A have to offer?
Redmi 5A packs some decent specs for its price. It features a 5-inch HD display. It is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 processor along with 2GB/3GB of RAM. It has 16GB/32GB of inbuilt storage, which can be expanded up to 128GB via microSD card. Redmi 5A runs on Android 7.1 Nougat-based MIUI 9 out-of-the-box, and sports a 5MP selfie shooter and 13MP primary camera.
Battery lasts up to 8 days on standby, claims Xiaomi
Redmi 5A houses a massive 3,000mAh battery, which Xiaomi claims will last up to 8 days on standby and 7 hours of video playback. The dual SIM (Nano) 4G VoLTE device also has a micro USB port and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
