Xiaomi Redmi 6 first sale in India today via Flipkart
Xiaomi Redmi 6, the recently launched successor to Redmi 5, will go on sale today for the first time in India today at 12pm via Flipkart and Mi.com. The key highlights of this budget smartphone are its HD+ 18:9 display and AI-powered dual rear camera setup. The Redmi 6 starts at Rs. 7,999. Here are all the details.

Up front, the phone has a traditional display with beefier top and bottom bezels and noticeable side bezels. On the back, it has a horizontally-positioned deal rear camera setup with an LED flash, a fingerprint sensor, and a speaker grille. The Redmi 6 features a 5.45-inch HD+ (720x1440 pixels) with an 18:9 aspect ratio and an 80.7% screen-to-body ratio.

The Redmi 6 sports an AI-powered 12MP+5MP dual rear camera setup with f/2.2 aperture, 1.25-micron pixels, PDAF, and HDR, Scene Detection and Portrait Mode. Up front, there's a 5MP (f/2.2) camera with 1.12-micron pixels and AI-based Portrait mode, Beautify and Face Unlock.

The Redmi 6 is powered by a MediaTek Helio P22 processor, paired with 3GB RAM and 32GB/64GB of storage (expandable up to 256GB). The phone runs Android Oreo-based MIUI 9.6 and packs 3,000mAh battery. The Xiaomi Redmi 6 costs Rs. 7,999 for the 3GB RAM/32GB storage model and Rs. 9,499 for the 3GB RAM/64GB storage variant (both introductory prices for first two months). In terms of launch offers, HDFC credit/debit cardholders will get a Rs. 500 instant discount on Flipkart and Mi.com. The phone will be available in Black, Gold, Rose Gold and Blue color options.
