Redmi 5 goes on permanent open sale on Amazon, Mi.com
The recently launched Xiaomi Redmi 5 has gone on a permanent open sale on both Amazon.in and Mi.com. Earlier, users would have to wait for limited-time flash sales to buy the smartphone, which would usually stock out within minutes of going live. The entry-level smartphone was launched on March 14 and has been sold in at least three flash sales since then.
The phone starts selling at Rs. 7,999
The Xiaomi Redmi 5 comes in three storage variants of 2GB/16GB, 3GB/32GB, and 4GB/64GB, which are priced at Rs. 7,999, Rs. 8,999 and Rs. 10,999, respectively. Further, all the variants are available in four color options of Gold, Black, Rose Gold, and Blue. It is bundled with a Rs. 2,200 cashback from Reliance Jio and 5% instant cashback up to Rs. 500 from SBI.
Redmi 5 sports 5.7-inch display, 12MP rear camera
The Xiaomi Redmi 5 sports a 5.7-inch HD+ display with an aspect ratio of 18:9, making it one of the very few entry-level smartphones with a wide-screen display. The dual-SIM phone features a 12MP rear camera and a 5MP front camera. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 processor and runs the MIUI 9 on top of Android Nougat.
