Xiaomi's new electric bicycle promises 120km range at Rs. 31,000
Xiaomi-backed Himo brand has expanded its product portfolio with a new electric bicycle - Himo T1. The e-bike looks like a sleek electric moped and promises an unbelievable range of 120km on a single charge. And more interestingly, it has been priced at a tempting 2,999 Yuan, which is just Rs. 31,000 in India. Here's everything you need to know about Himo T1.
Minimalistic, light moped-like design
Himo T1 can be described as an e-bike packed into the body of a typical moped; it has got pedals on the sides and a front floor where you can rest your legs. The e-bike comes in three colors - Red, Grey, and White - and boasts a minimalistic design with 53kg of weight, one-touch start, multi-function combination switch, digital display, and 90mm-wide tires.
Power capacity of the Himo T1
Under the hood, Himo T1 runs on a brushless permanent magnet motor rated at 350W. It features hydraulic disc brakes on the front and drum on the rear and comes in two lithium-ion battery options. One comes with 14,000mAh (14Ah) capacity and promises 60km range on a single charge, while the other offers double, with 28,000mAh (28Ah) capacity and 120km range.
No word on top speed
While the e-moped from Xiaomi looks amazing, there's no word on the top speed of the vehicle. However, if we consider the recently enacted law limiting the speed of e-bikes in China, the maximum speed on this e-bike shouldn't go beyond 25kmph.
Pricing and availability details
Himo T1 has been priced at 2,999 Yuan on Xiaomi's crowdfunding platform and will go on sale on June 4 in China. Shanghai Ximo Electric Technology will be shipping the vehicle, but there's no word on when it would come to India. Either way, it is expected that Himo T1 will show up on AliExpress and GearBest, where you'd get the international shipping option.
This isn't the first e-bike from Xiaomi
Himo T1 further expands Xiaomi's portfolio in the e-bike category. The Chinese giant already offers Mi Bicycle and Mi Electric Scooter under its own name. Meanwhile, under the Himo brand, the company had previously launched two folding e-Bikes: Himo V1 and C20. The former came as a small $261 folding e-bike, while the latter showed up as its larger sibling, priced at $375.
