Xiaomi launches 'Reward Mi' program for Indian users
After opening its first 'Mi Home' in India last month, Chinese electronics giant Xiaomi announced 'Reward Mi' program in the country. The three-phase program on Mi.com is open between 15-21 June. Users who register for the program receive 50 Mi Tokens as a welcome reward. The program includes games, referrals to win Mi Tokens to obtain benefits upon purchasing products on the website.
Earn Mi Tokens with every purchase
In the first phase of the rewards program, users earn Mi Tokens by completing purchases on Mi.com, depending on the amount they shopped for. For every transaction, users get 10% of the purchase value as Mi Tokens, which will be credited after the product is successfully delivered. These tokens can be redeemed by users to receive price benefits on their next Mi.com purchase.
Referrals and tier privileges
The second phase will be referral-based under which users need to invite their family and friends to become Mi users to earn rewards. The second phase will begin in the first week of August. The next phase involves Mi Tier privileges like express delivery, early sale access, products, etc. Users will be divided into tiers based on their earlier Mi purchases.
Users can get F-codes, discount coupons
Users can convert 'Mi Tokens' reward points into accessory coupons. After receiving 2,500 points, users can exchange them for a Rs. 100 accessory coupon. 10,000 reward points can be converted into an accessory coupon worth Rs. 1,000. With 1,000 Mi Tokens, users can get an F-Code for purchasing Redmi Note 4 2GB/32GB variant without having to wait for the Flash Sale.
Validity of reward points
Mi Tokens will be valid for a period ranging between 12-24 months. For example, if they are obtained before 31 Dec'17, they will be valid till 31 Dec'18; if they are earned between 1 Jan-31 Dec'18, they will be valid till 31 Dec'19.
Xiaomi India offers coupons in exchange for e-waste
In May'17, Xiaomi launched an e-waste recycling program and started accepting old, recyclable electronic items in exchange for Rs. 100 discount coupons. Products like mobiles, speakers, power banks, headphones, etc, which reached the end stage of life were being accepted. Mi.com users could donate products by filling out e-waste recycling form online for product pick-up or by dropping them at Mi service centers.
