WhatsApp Business app, all you need to know
WhatsApp Business is still in the making. Although the messaging platform has said that it'll be rolling it out to organizations soon, the service is still being worked upon. However, on its FAQ page, there's an option for users to become part of the testing process, where they can give their inputs about account setup, analytics, automatic responses and others. Here's a peek.
It will be a standalone app
Android Police said that WhatsApp Business will be made available in the Play Store as a standalone app. This will be done to ensure that people, who operate business accounts, are able to keep their private and business conversations separate. The app comes with a chat migration option from the old account to the new one and also landline phone number support.
Private and Business simultaneously
Users will be able to operate both, private and professional, versions on a single phone. This should help them in making clear boundaries between the work life and the personal one. Overall management will become easier and there will be no overlapping that can lead to confusion. In WhatsApp Business app's Settings section, one can see two new additions, namely Business Settings and Statistics.
What will be available?
In the business profile section, one can put a display picture and the name of the organization. Other necessary information, like location, description, website, and categories, can also be added here. In summation, all that a business would like its users to know will be there. A Verified/Unverified status badge is also present, which WhatsApp has created to ensure authentic business profiles.
One very important feature
In WhatsApp Business, one will also get the 'Away message' option. These messages are responses that a business can customize for the times when they're not available to attend queries. Customers will get to see a pop-up message, when they initiate a dialogue with any business account on WhatsApp. It will inform them whether or not that account has been verified by the authorities.
Who's implementing it in India?
As informed earlier, one of the earliest Indian businesses that's making use of this feature, is the ticket-booking platform BookMyShow. Reports suggest that WhatsApp is also negotiating with other firms, such as Ola, OYO, and a motley of airlines for the same. Let's see when we get to see this feature finally hit the Indian market.
