Your Vodafone, Idea postpaid plan will now cover iPhone damages
Apple's iPhone, one of the most popular smartphones around, is an embodiment of a premium build quality and flawless design. And unsurprisingly so, its repair costs are sky high. But if you happen to be a Vodafone or Idea customer, you can have your iPhone damages covered with postpaid plans starting Rs. 649 only. Here's all about it.
About Vodafone, Idea's "iPhone Forever" Program
Vodafone and Idea have revised their respective Red and Nirvana postpaid plans starting Rs. 649 to introduce the "iPhone Forever" program. Under this program, which is eligible for iPhone 5S and above, both telcos are offering easy replacements, repairs, and upgrades for iPhone users. Notably, the program comes as a free bundled benefit and is valid for 1-year, post successful registration of the device.
However, damage claim is not free of cost
Though the "iPhone Forever" program comes as an add-on benefit, the replacement and repairs provided under it are not free. In case of a replacement or damage claim, you will have to pay a handling fee of Rs. 2,000 plus GST. Further, you can also upgrade your iPhone by paying the differential cost (Cost of the new device - Depreciated value of old device).
You can't replace iPhones that are more than 18-months old
As per the official terms and conditions of the "iPhone Forever" program, you can avail replacement, repair and upgrade services for all eligible iPhones that are not older than 18 months. Notably, there is no replacement service for iPhone 5S. In case your iPhone is more than 18 months old, you can opt for repair and upgrade services only (no replacement option available).
Meanwhile, here are the benefits of the Rs. 649 plan
Under the Rs. 649 plan, both Vodafone and Idea offer 90GB of total high-speed data with rollover benefits of upto 200GB, unlimited free calling and 100 daily SMSes. Further, as an additional benefit, Vodafone users get a complimentary subscription to 1 year of Amazon Prime membership and access to digital content available on Vodafone Play app.
