Toyota Glanza launched in India at Rs. 7.22 lakh
Japanese carmaker Toyota has launched its all-new Glanza at a starting price of Rs. 7.22 lakh (ex-showroom) in India. The Glanza hatchback is the first product of Maruti Suzuki-Toyota Partnership and it shares its underpinnings with the Maruti Suzuki Baleno. Notably, the car is available only in the petrol engine, unlike Baleno which is offered in both petrol and diesel engine options. Here's more.
Toyota Glanza: At a glance
The Toyota Glanza follows the design cues of Maruti Suzuki Baleno and features similar alloy wheels but a different front grille under Toyota's badging. For lighting, the hatchback uses LED headlamps along with the day time running lights and LED tail lamps. Moreover, the car is offered in Sportin' Red, Gaming Grey, Insta Blue, Enticing Silver, and Cafe White color options.
Inside the cabin
Inside the cabin, the 5-seater Toyota Glanza features similar interiors to Maruti Suzuki's Baleno including same seats, automatic AC, 60:40 split rear seat, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel with power steering support and paddle shifters. Further, the hatchback features a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system along with a bunch of new-age features such as keyless entry, climate control, Bluetooth, navigation, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
Power and performance
The all-new Toyota Glanza is offered in two BS-VI compliant petrol engine options: the 1.2-liter K12N engine with a multi-hybrid system and a 1.2-liter K12M unit without the multi-hybrid motor. The former is capable of producing 89bhp of power and 113Nm of peak torque, while the latter churns out 82bhp and 113Nm.
Toyota Glanza: On the road
For braking performance, the Toyota Glanza comes equipped with ABS along with EBD and traction control. Talking about safety features, the hatchback features power locks for doors with central locking, a reverse camera, and anti-theft provisions. Also, the car offers dual front airbags, reverse parking sensors, ISOFIX child seat mounts, seatbelt reminder, and a speed warning system.

In India, the base variant of the Toyota Glanza is available at Rs. 7.22 lakh (ex-showroom), while the top-end model costs Rs. 8.90 lakh (ex-showroom). Further, select dealerships across the country have started accepting bookings for the hatchback at a token amount of Rs. 10,000. Lastly, the car will lock horns with Honda Jazz and Hyundai Venue in the country.
