Tata Sky reduces prices of DTH set-top boxes: Details here
In a bid to expand its presence in India, Tata Sky has reduced the prices of its HD and SD set-top boxes in India by Rs. 400. With this revision, the prices of Tata Sky set-top boxes now match with that of Airtel Digital TV's. Notably, the new prices are now effective across all dealers and retail stores. Tata Sky set-top boxes now start at Rs. 1,600
Tata Sky SD set-top box is now available at Rs. 1,600, while the HD set-top box is priced at Rs. 1,800. However, Tata Sky is offering a better deal if you buy the set-top box online. On the company's website, the SD set-top box is listed at Rs. 1,499 whereas the HD set-top box is priced at Rs. 1,699.
Recently, Tata Sky launched a new digital content service
Meanwhile, Tata Sky has also introduced its digital content service called Tata Sky Binge. The service, which brings content from Eros Now, Hotstar, and Hungama Play among others, is currently available through Amazon Fire TV Stick - Tata Sky Edition. Tata Sky subscribers can enjoy Tata Sky Binge service with over 5,000 titles and three months of Amazon Prime access at Rs. 249/month.
Tata Sky has also introduced four new broadcaster packs
Further, as an addition to its portfolio of Broadcaster Packs, Tata Sky has introduced four new regional packs from Star India for its subscribers. These new packs, available at Rs. 49 per month, offer upto 21 channels under four options: Star Bengali Value A, Star Bengali Value B, Star Bengali Premium A, and Star Bengali Premium B.
Star Bengali Value A
The Star Bengali Value A pack is one of the more affordable broadcaster packs available on Tata Sky. It is priced at Rs. 49 which after taxes will cost you Rs. 57.80 per month. Under the pack, you will get 14 SD channels including the likes of National Geographic, Star Gold, Jalsha Movies, Star Sports 2, and Star Sports 3 among others.
Star Bengali Value B
The Star Bengali Value B pack is nearly the same as the Star Bengali Value A pack. It also costs Rs. 57.80 per month and offers 14 SD channels as well. However, the main difference between these two options is that the Value B packs Star Sports 1 Hindi instead of Star Sports 1 Bangla.
Star Bengali Premium A
The third new pack is the Star Bengali Premium A plan. This plan is priced at Rs. 79 and after taxes, it will cost you Rs. 93.20 per month. Under this pack, you get 17 channels including Fox Life, Nat Geo Wild, National Geographic, Star Gold Select, Star Sports 1, Star Sports 2, Star Sports 3, and Star Sports 1 Bangla among others.
Star Bengali Premium B pack
The Star Bengali Premium B pack costs Rs. 100.30 per month and it offers a total of 21 channels. Under this pack, you get all the 17 channels of Premium A pack but with Star Sports 1 Hindi replacing Star Sports 1 Bangla and four new channels - Movies OK, Star Utsav Movies, Star Bharat, and Star Utsav.
