Tata Sky Mobile app v/s JioTV: Which one is better?
With more and more users consuming content on mobile devices, there is a rapid growth in OTT platforms and TV applications. Naturally, all DTH service providers have also introduced their apps to cater to the growing needs. In the latest such development, Tata Sky has updated its app to take on segment leader JioTV by offering more live channels, TV shows, and movies.
Tata Sky Mobile app now offers over 400 live channels
Tata Sky Mobile app, available on both iOS and Android, lets you live stream all the channels that are a part of your Tata Sky subscription package. That means you can watch over 400 live TV channels on your mobile, on the go. The app also provides access to purchased OTT content which includes hundreds of movies, TV shows, learning videos and more.
The app also offers remote recording feature
Further, the Tata Sky Mobile app comes with a remote recording feature which lets you record shows on your Tata Sky+ Transfer HD set-top box via the app. Simply select the show you want to record and tap on the remote recording icon.
Meanwhile, what are the benefits of JioTV?
Now coming to JioTV, it is available as a free service for all Jio customers. It offers Live TV access to over 600 channels including 100+ HD channels in 15+ languages, and offers a 7 days catch-up service for the latest prime shows. You can even pause live TV channels and play them at your convenience or simply record them and watch later.
However, JioTV lacks a web version of the app
Alongside the mobile app, Tata Sky also allows its subscribers to access live TV channels on the web. This is one area where Tata Sky has an edge over Jio's service, considering there is no web version of JioTV app.
