Swiggy Instamart now delivers groceries in 42 Indian cities
Swiggy's quick commerce platform, Swiggy Instamart, has announced its expansion into 10 new Indian cities. This strategic move brings the total number of operational cities to 42. The newly added locations include Thrissur, Mangaluru, Kanpur, Udaipur, Warangal, Salem, Amritsar, Bhopal, Varanasi and Ludhiana. Swiggy Instamart has plans to further penetrate Tier II and III markets.
Expansion driven by demand from smaller towns
Amitesh Jha, CEO of Swiggy Instamart, highlighted the significant role of smaller towns and cities in driving this expansion. He stated, "The enthusiastic demand from smaller towns and cities has been incredibly encouraging. Our expansion into these new locations marks a significant milestone." This suggests that the platform's growth strategy is closely aligned with market demands.
Partnership with local brands for regional preferences
In a bid to cater to regional preferences, Swiggy Instamart is forming partnerships with local brands and vendors. These collaborations include Narans Foods and Ideal Icecream in Mangaluru, Andaah and Top N Town Breads in Bhopal, and Milma Milk and Navua Bakers in Thrissur. This approach aims to provide customers with products that align with their regional tastes.
Swiggy Instamart to expand dark store network
Swiggy Instamart will enter more Tier II and III markets in the future. The company intends to do this by expanding its dark store network across both existing and new cities, as well as increasing its product range. This strategy is designed to meet the growing demand in these markets.
