Social gaming platform SuperGaming raises $1.3 million seed funding
What's the story
SuperGaming, the social gaming platform for casual gamers, has raised $1.3 million in seed funding.
The investment, which is the company's first till date, was led by Japanese giant Dream Incubator, AET Fund, and early-stage investor Better Capital.
The Singapore headquartered company targets customers from tier 1 Indian cities, and also has an office in Pune.

SuperGaming: A party hub for casual gamers
SuperGaming was started in 2019 by Roby John, Navneet Waraich, and Sanket Nadhani, who all have prior experience in game development, software engineering and graphic design.
The company provides a social gaming platform where it offers casual, social and party games that are targeted towards broader audiences; they don't focus on large-scale games like Fortnite, which are mostly played by young male players.

"We have evaluated over 100 gaming start-ups in India and SuperGaming is the best team we have seen," said Munehiko Eto, MD of Dream Incubator India, commenting on his investment.
He further added, "With a track record of 100 plus global quality games with 150 million plus installs, we believe they are best placed to capture the market."
Investment
The company will use the funds to expand its presence
Notably, the company will deploy the fresh funds to scale up its social gaming platform, partner with other popular gaming companies, and hire new talent.
Speaking about the fund-raise, Roby, the co-founder of SuperGaming, said, "The seed funding comes at an opportune time for us and will enable us to build a new casual gaming experience for leading metros in India."
Concern
Building a fun place for girls to hang out: CEO
Roby further explained that most of the gaming platforms are targeted towards young male audiences and they often become a toxic place for girls.
"By having a wide genre of games and being very conscious about how we build SuperGaming, we want to make a fun place for girls to hang out as well," he further added.
