Sensex slips to 56,463.15 points, Nifty settles below 17,000 points
The benchmark Sensex and Nifty indices witnessed a slump, extending the losing streak for the fifth day. While the Sensex slipped 703.59 points to 56,463.15 points, the Nifty shed 215 points, or 1.27%, to 16,958.65 points. Who were the biggest gainers and losers on Tuesday?
Coming to the top sector gainers, NIFTY ENERGY on Tuesday became the most gaining sector, edging 0.06% higher. On the other hand, the biggest stock gainers were Apollo Hospital, Coal India, and Reliance, which climbed 5.75%, 4.38%, and 3.81%, respectively. HDFC, HDFC Life, and SBI Life Insurance lead the negative pack, plummeting 5.45%, 4.81%, and 4.15%, respectively.

The Asian markets ended on a negative note, with the Shanghai Composite Index, the Hang Seng Index, and the Nikkei ending in the red, dropping to 3,194 points, 21,027 points, and 26,985 points, respectively. NASDAQ closed on a negative note, shedding 0.14% to 13,332 points.
Crude oil futures slip by 2.16%
The Indian rupee (INR) depreciated by 0.32% to end at Rs. 76.51 against the US Dollar in the forex trade on Tuesday. Meanwhile, the gold futures prices largely traded flat, ending at Rs. 53,348. However, the silver futures soared 0.34% to Rs. 70,216. Meanwhile, the crude oil future prices declined by $2.35, or 2.16% to $106.34 per barrel.
Fuel prices in Delhi and Mumbai remain the same
The fuel prices in Delhi remain the same on Tuesday with the diesel priced at Rs. 96.71/liter and petrol at Rs. 105.45/liter. Meanwhile, fuel prices in Mumbai also remained unchanged with diesel priced at Rs. 104.75/liter and petrol at Rs. 120.5/liter.
