Sensex closes at 58,338.93 points, Nifty settles below 17,500 points
On Wednesday, major indices of the stock market ended flat with the Sensex settling at 58,338.93 points and the Nifty closing at 17,475.65 points. Who were the biggest gainers and losers on Wednesday?
Among the top sector gainers in the stock market were Nifty FMCG, NIFTY COMMODITIES, and NIFTY METAL, gaining 0.68%, 0.6%, and 0.57%, respectively. On the other hand, the top gaining stocks were ONGC, Apollo Hospital, and ITC, adding 3.17%, 2.55%, and 1.79%, respectively. HDFC, Maruti Suzuki, and HDFC Bank emerged as the most losing stocks, falling 1.95%, 1.95%, and 1.91%, respectively.

Meanwhile, the Asian markets witnessed mixed trading on Wednesday. While the Hang Seng Index and the Nikkei slipped to 21,374.37 points and 26,843.49 points, respectively, the Shanghai Composite Index soared 0.82% to 3,186.82 points. NASDAQ witnessed a decline, edging 0.3% lower to 13,371.57 points.
Gold prices increased by 0.4%
Also, the Indian rupee (INR) on Wednesday weakened against the US Dollar, plunging 0.06% to settle at Rs. 76.18. Meanwhile, both gold and silver futures witnessed a rise. The price of gold futures rose 0.4% to Rs. 53,088, while that of silver futures climbed 0.76% to Rs. 69,310. On the other hand, the crude oil futures edged up by 0.59% to $100.93 per barrel.
Fuel prices in Delhi and Mumbai remain the same
Fuel prices in Delhi remain the same on Wednesday with the diesel at Rs. 96.71/liter and petrol at Rs. 105.45/liter. Meanwhile, fuel prices in Mumbai remained unchanged on Wednesday with diesel costing Rs. 104.75/liter and petrol priced at Rs. 120.5/liter.
