Sensex rises to 56,072 points, Nifty settles above 16,700
On Friday, the benchmark Sensex and Nifty indices witnessed a rise, extending their winning streak for the sixth day in a row. The Sensex jumped 0.7% to 56,072.23 points while the Nifty climbed 0.68% to 16,719.45. Meanwhile, the midcap stocks traded flat with the Nifty Midcap 50 settling at 8,038.25. Who were the biggest gainers and losers?
As far as the top sector gainers are concerned, Nifty FINANCIAL SERVICE, NIFTY BANK, and NIFTY PVT BANK topped the list, edging up 1.53%, 1.46%, and 1.41%, respectively. The top stock gainers were UltraTech Cement, Grasim, and UPL, which climbed 5.81%, 4.02%, and 2.94%, respectively. TATA Consumer Products, Infosys, and NTPC led the negative pack, plummeting 1.68%, 1.67%, and 1.36%, respectively.
INR goes up 0.09% against the US Dollar
On Friday, the Indian rupee (INR) edged up 0.09% to Rs. 79.87 versus the US Dollar in the forex trade. Also, the gold futures prices surged by 0.44% to Rs. 50,599, while the silver futures settled flat at Rs. 55,435. Meanwhile, crude oil future prices declined by $1.34, or 1.38% to settle at $96.04 per barrel.

The world's most popular cryptocurrency Bitcoin is currently trading at $23,447.94, a 0.91% increase compared to yesterday. Ethereum is up by 1.69% and is currently trading at $1,630.58. Tether, BNB, and Cardano are priced at $1 (0.01% up), $269.66 (0.69% up), and $0.5071 (1.56% up), respectively. Finally, up 0.89% compared to yesterday, Dogecoin is now trading at $0.07093.
Fuel prices in Delhi and Mumbai remain unchanged
The fuel prices in Delhi remain unchanged on Friday, with diesel priced at Rs. 89.66/liter and petrol costing Rs. 96.76/liter. In Mumbai, diesel is priced at Rs. 94.25/liter while petrol costs Rs. 106.29/liter.
