Sensex slips 460 points, Nifty settles around 17,100 points
On Friday, the benchmark Sensex and Nifty indices were on a downward trend. While the Sensex plunged 0.81% to 57,060.87 points, the Nifty fell 0.83% to 17,102.55 points. Who were the biggest gainers and losers on Friday?
The top gaining stocks were HDFC Life and TATA Consumer Products and Kotak Mahindra, adding 1.85%, 1.56%, and 1.29%, respectively. Among the biggest sector losers were NIFTY MEDIA, NIFTY PSE, and NIFTY PSU BANK, shedding 2.95%, 2.39%, and 1.7%, respectively. Meanwhile, Axis Bank, Coal India, and Adani Ports were trading among the top stock losers, shedding 6.48%, 3.94%, and 3.5%, respectively.

The Asian markets ended in the green. The Shanghai Composite Index, the Hang Seng Index, and the Nikkei climbed 2.41%, 4.01%, and 1.75% to settle at 3,047.06 points, 21,089.39 points, and 26,847.9 points, respectively. In the US market, NASDAQ advanced 3.06% to 12,871.53 points.
Brent Crude oil prices rose by $1.6
The Indian rupee (INR) on Friday strengthened 0.04% to settle at Rs. 76.45 against the US dollar in the forex trade. Both gold and silver futures witnessed a rise. The price of gold futures rose 0.9% to Rs. 51,722, while that of silver futures climbed 0.99% to Rs. 64,550. Meanwhile, the crude oil future prices surged by $1.6, or 1.52% to $106.72 per barrel.
Fuel prices in Delhi and Mumbai remain same
The fuel prices in Delhi remain the same on Friday with the diesel priced at Rs. 96.71/liter, and petrol costing Rs. 105.45/liter. Meanwhile, in Mumbai diesel costs Rs. 104.75/liter and petrol is priced at Rs. 120.5/per liter.
