Sensex closes at 58,568.5 points, Nifty settles below 17,500 points
The stock market closed on a flat note on Thursday with the Sensex settling at 58,568.51 points and Nifty ending flat at 17,464.75 points. Who were the biggest gainers and losers on Thursday?
As far as the top-performing sectors of the market are concerned, NIFTY FMCG, NIFTY MEDIA, and NIFTY PSE led the way, gaining 1.20%, 0.8%, and 0.78%, respectively. The top gaining stocks were JSW Steel, M&M, and Britannia, adding 2.10%, 1.66%, and 1.84%, respectively. Hindalco, Divis Labs, and Dr Reddys Labs lead the negative pack, plummeting 5.05%, 2.53%, and 1.41%, respectively.

INR climbs by 0.16% against the US Dollar
The Indian rupee (INR) climbed 0.16% to end at Rs. 75.79 against the US Dollar in the forex trade on Thursday. While the price of gold futures surged by Rs. 163 or 0.32% to Rs. 51,116, the silver futures dropped Rs. 391 or 0.58% to Rs. 67,015. On the other hand, the crude oil futures slipped 5.32% to $101.37 per barrel.
Fuel prices in Delhi and Mumbai see an uptick
In Delhi, fuel prices saw a surge with the diesel rate rising by Rs. 0.8 to Rs. 93.11/liter and petrol increasing by Rs. 0.8 to Rs. 101.85/liter. In Mumbai, the diesel rate climbed to Rs. 100.93/liter and petrol rate rose to Rs. 116.7/liter.
