Sensex climbs over 300 points, Nifty moves past 16,000 mark
The benchmark Sensex and Nifty indices on Friday saw gains, putting an end to the four-day losing streak. While the Sensex rose 0.64% to 53,760.78 points, the Nifty jumped 0.69% to 16,049.2 points. Meanwhile, the midcap stocks showed a bullish stance as the Nifty Midcap 50 gained 0.87% to close at 7,716.75 points. Here's all you need to know about Friday's market report.
Who were the biggest winners and losers on Friday?
Among the winning sectors in the stock market on Friday were NIFTY AUTO, NIFTY CONSUMPTION, and NIFTY FMCG, which rose 1.99%, 1.5%, and 1.45%, respectively. Meanwhile, the top stock gainers were TATA Consumer Products, Titan Company and HUL climbed 3.22%, 2.94%, and 2.9%, respectively. Tata Steel, Power Grid Corp, and HCL Tech led the losing pack, shedding 2.64%, 2.56%, and 2.22%, respectively.
Crude oil prices increased by $0.66
The Indian rupee (INR) weakened against the US Dollar, plunging 0.01% to settle at Rs. 79.88. The gold futures ended flat at Rs. 50,606, while the silver futures tumbled Rs. 59,320. Meanwhile, the crude oil future prices surged by $0.66, or 0.64% to $103.59/barrel.

As far as Asian markets are concerned, the Shanghai Composite Index plunged 1.64% to 3,228.06 points while the Hang Seng Index declined 2.19% to 20,297.72 points on Friday. The Nikkei index, however, witnessed a rise of 0.54%, closing at 26,788.47 points. Meanwhile, in the US market, NASDAQ ended almost flat, marginally rising 3.61 points or 0.03%, to 11,251.19 points.
Fuel prices in Delhi and Mumbai remain the same
The fuel prices in Delhi remain unchanged on Monday, with diesel priced at Rs. 89.66/liter and petrol costing Rs. 96.76/liter. Meanwhile, in Mumbai, diesel costs Rs. 97.26/liter and petrol is priced at Rs. 111.33/liter.

Bitcoin, the world's most popular cryptocurrency, is trading at $20,902.07 which is 0.05% up from yesterday. Ethereum is up 0.72% and is trading at $1,219.45. Tether, BNB, and Cardano are priced at $0.9996 (flat), $238.59 (0.02% up), and $0.4418 (0.07% down), respectively. Dogecoin is trading 0.01% higher than yesterday at $0.06377.
