Sensex falls 508 points, Nifty barely holds 16,000 mark
On Tuesday, the benchmark Sensex and Nifty indices witnessed a slump. While the Sensex slipped 508.62 points or 0.94% to 53,886.61 points, the Nifty shed 157.7 points or 0.98% to 16,058.3 points. Who were the biggest winners and losers on Tuesday?
Among the winning sectors in the stock market on Tuesday were NIFTY ENERGY and NIFTY REALTY, which rose 0.37% and 0.1%, respectively. Furthermore, Shree Cements, NTPC, and Coal India emerged as the top-performing stocks, edging up 2.08%, 1.52%, and 0.31%, respectively. Eicher Motors, Hindalco, and Infosys led the negative pack, plummeting 3.21%, 2.82%, and 2.43%, respectively.

Among the Asian markets, the Hang Seng Index on Tuesday shed 279.46 points to 20,844.74 points while the Nikkei gained 475.64 points to 26,336.66 points. Meanwhile, in the US market, NASDAQ ended in the red, falling 262.71 points, or 2.26%, to 11,372.6 points.
INR slips 0.2% against the US Dollar
The Indian rupee (INR) on Tuesday weakened against the US dollar, plunging 0.2% to settle at Rs. 79.6. Meanwhile, the gold futures prices were trading flat at Rs. 50,606. However, the silver prices fell by 184, or 0.31%, to Rs. 59,320. Coming to the crude oil futures, the prices soared 0.64% to settle at $103.96/barrel.
Fuel prices in Delhi and Mumbai remain the same
The fuel prices in Delhi remain unchanged on Monday, with diesel priced at Rs. 89.66/liter and petrol costing Rs. 96.76/liter. Meanwhile, in Mumbai, diesel costs Rs. 97.26/liter, and petrol is priced at Rs. 111.33/liter.

Bitcoin is selling at $19,632.17, down 0.70% from yesterday. Ethereum is down 1.02% and is selling at $1,056.99. Tether, BNB, and Cardano are priced at $0.9992 (flat), $221.56 (0.82% down), and $0.4276 (1.01% down), respectively. Down 1.44% from yesterday, Dogecoin is trading at $0.0608.
