Sensex closes at 53,134 points, Nifty settles at 15,811
On Tuesday, the Indian equity benchmarks settled lower after reversing the initial gains. While Sensex fell 100 points or 0.19% to settle at 53,134, the Nifty went down 25 points or 0.15% to end at 15,811. Who were the biggest gainers and losers?
Among the winning sectors in the stock market were NIFTY ENERGY, NIFTY METAL, and NIFTY INFRA, which rose 0.62%, 0.3%, and 0.14%, respectively. On the other hand, the biggest stock gainers were Power Grid Corporation, Shree Cements, and Apollo Hospital, which climbed 1.76%, 1.52%, and 1.28%, respectively. HDFC Life, ITC, and Wipro lead the negative pack, plummeting 1.85%, 1.68%, and 1.53%, respectively.
INR goes down 0.52% against the US Dollar
The Indian rupee (INR) slipped by 0.52% to settle at Rs. 79.36 against the US Dollar in the forex trade on Tuesday. The gold and silver futures prices witnessed little movement, largely trading flat. While the gold futures settled at Rs. 52,204, the silver futures closed at Rs. 58,609. On the other hand, the crude oil futures slipped 0.95% to $108.86 per barrel.

Moving on to the Asian markets, the Shanghai Composite Index gained 0.04% to settle at 3,404.03 points. However, Hang Seng plunged to 21,853.07 points while Nikkei declined to 26,423.47 points. In the US, NASDAQ closed on a positive note, gaining 0.9% to 11,127.85 points.

The world's most popular cryptocurrency Bitcoin is trading at $19,715.68 which is 1.75% up compared to yesterday. Meanwhile, Ethereum is up by 5.54% and is selling at $1,125.61. Tether, BNB, and Cardano are priced at $0.9991 (flat), $227.80 (3.97% up), and $0.4542 (0.62% up), respectively. Dogecoin is down by 0.16% compared to yesterday and is trading at $0.06668.
Fuel prices in Delhi and Mumbai remain unchanged
The fuel prices in Delhi remain unchanged on Tuesday, with diesel priced at Rs. 89.66/liter and petrol costing Rs. 96.76/liter. Meanwhile, in Mumbai, diesel costs Rs. 97.26/liter and petrol is priced at Rs. 111.33/liter.
