Sensex slips to 52,805 points, Nifty barely holds 15,700
On Monday, the Indian equity benchmarks traded lower in opening deals, moving in tandem with global peers. While the Sensex slipped 102 points or 0.2% to 52,805, the Nifty fell 47 points or 0.3% to 15,705. However, the midcap indices showed bullish signals with the Nifty Midcap 100 edging 0.15% higher. Who were the biggest winners and losers?
As far as the top sector gainers are concerned, NIFTY FMCG, NIFTY PSU BANK, and NIFTY CONSUMPTION topped the list, edging up 2.59%, 1.63%, and 1.57%, respectively. Meanwhile, HUL, Britannia, and IndusInd Bank emerged as the biggest stock gainers, adding 4.13%, 3.51%, and 3.07%, respectively. Among the biggest stock losers were JSW Steel, ONGC, and TCS, which plunged 4.77%, 3.78%, and 2.43%, respectively.
INR goes up 0.12% against the US Dollar
The Indian rupee (INR) climbed by 0.12% to end at Rs. 78.95 against the US Dollar in the forex trade on Monday. The prices of gold futures surged by 0.27% to Rs. 52,055, while the silver futures settled flat at Rs. 57,800. Meanwhile, the crude oil future prices declined by $0.91, or 0.84% to $108.08 per barrel.

Coming to Asian markets, Hang Seng and Nikkei declined by 0.13% and 0.84% to 21,830.35 points and 26,153.81 points, respectively. However, the Shanghai Composite Index rose 0.53% to 3,405.43 points. In the US, NASDAQ ended on a positive note, surging 0.9% to 11,127.85 points.

The world's most popular cryptocurrency Bitcoin is trading at $19,377.49 which is 1.81% up compared to yesterday. Meanwhile, Ethereum is up by 0.79% and is selling at $1,066.54. Tether, BNB, and Cardano are listed at $0.9991 (0.01% up), $219.09 (0.9% up), and $0.4514 (0.63% up), respectively. Finally, Dogecoin is trading 1.77% more than yesterday at $0.06679.
Fuel prices in Delhi and Mumbai remain unchanged
The fuel prices in Delhi remain unchanged on Monday, with diesel priced at Rs. 89.66/liter and petrol costing Rs. 96.76/liter. Meanwhile, in Mumbai, diesel costs Rs. 97.26/liter and petrol is priced at Rs. 111.33/liter.
