    What's the story

    The Indian stock market closed in red on Wednesday with the Sensex settling at 53,026.97 points and the Nifty ending at 15,799.1 points.

    The midcap indices were also trading in the red as the Nifty Midcap 50 plunged 31.05 points, or 0.42%, to 7,359.95 points.

    Who were the biggest winners and losers on Wednesday?

    Among the top sector gainers in the stock market were NIFTY ENERGY, NIFTY METAL, and NIFTY PSE, gaining 2.94%, 1.87%, and 1.61%, respectively.

    ONGC, NTPC, and Reliance emerged as the biggest stock gainers, adding 2.85%, 1.95%, and 1.91%, respectively.

    Meanwhile, HDFC Life, HUL, and Apollo Hospital were trading among the top stock losers on Wednesday, shedding 4.67%, 3.62%, and 3.48%, respectively.

    Coming to the Asian markets, the Hang Seng Index on Wednesday slipped 422.08 points, or 1.88%, to 21,996.89 points while the Nikkei rose 244.87 points, or 0.91%, to 26,804.6 points. As far as the US market is concerned, NASDAQ declined 2.98% to 11,181.54 points.

    Crude oil prices goes up by 0.54%

    On Wednesday, the Indian rupee (INR) declined 0.24% against the US Dollar to end at Rs. 78.96 in the forex trade.

    Also, the gold futures prices largely traded flat, settling at Rs. 50,750, but the silver futures dropped Rs. 329, or 0.55%, to Rs. 59,210.

    Meanwhile, the crude oil future prices surged by $0.61, or 0.54% to $112.21/barrel.

    Fuel prices in Delhi and Mumbai remain unchanged

    The fuel prices in Delhi remain unchanged on Tuesday, with diesel priced at Rs. 89.66/liter and petrol costing Rs. 96.76/liter. Meanwhile, in Mumbai, diesel costs Rs. 97.26/liter and petrol is priced at Rs. 111.33/liter.

    How have the popular cryptocurrencies fared today?

    Bitcoin is selling at $20,070.12, down 4.75% from yesterday. Ethereum is down 7.55% and is trading at $1,130.29.

    Tether, BNB, and Cardano are priced at $0.999 (flat), $220.30 (7.70% down), and $0.472 (3.47% down), respectively.

    Down 9.10% from yesterday, Dogecoin is trading at $0.06574.
