Sensex climbs to 52,728 points, Nifty settles near 15,700 mark
On Friday, the benchmark Sensex and Nifty indices saw gains. While the Sensex rose 0.88% to 52,727.98 points, the Nifty jumped 0.92% to 15,699.25 points. Also, the midcap indices showed positive signals with the Nifty Midcap 50 gaining 101.45 points, or 1.39%, to close at 7,314.4 points. Here's all you need to know about Friday's market report.
Who were the biggest winners and losers on Friday?
On Friday, NIFTY MEDIA, NIFTY PSU BANK and NIFTY AUTO emerged as the top performing sectors, rising 2.48%, 1.94% and 1.93%, respectively. On the other hand, the biggest stock gainers were M&M, Hero Motocorp and IndusInd Bank, which climbed 4.32%, 3.14% and 2.82%, respectively. Among the biggest stock losers were Tech Mahindra, Infosys and Apollo Hospital, which plunged 1.05%, 0.74% and 0.58%, respectively.

Coming to the Asian markets, both the Shanghai Composite Index and Nikkei traded in red on Friday, slipping to 3,349.75 points and 26,491.97 points, respectively. Meanwhile, the Hang Seng Index jumped 2.09% to 21,719.06 points. In the US market, NASDAQ ended in the green, rising 179.11 points, or 1.62%, to 11,232.19 points.
Crude oil future prices at $105.69 per barrel
On Friday, the Indian rupee (INR) declined 0.04% against the US Dollar to end at Rs. 78.33 in the forex trade. Not much movement was witnessed in the gold and silver futures as they were trading flat. The gold price settled at Rs. 50,650, while silver ended at Rs. 59,355. The crude oil future prices surged by $0.73, or 0.69% to $105.69 per barrel.
Fuel prices in Delhi and Mumbai on Friday
The fuel prices in Delhi remain unchanged on Thursday, with diesel priced at Rs. 89.66/liter and petrol costing Rs. 96.76/liter. Meanwhile, in Mumbai, diesel costs Rs. 97.26/liter and petrol is priced at Rs. 111.33/liter.

Bitcoin, the world's biggest cryptocurrency, is selling at $20,798.31, up 0.68% from yesterday. Ethereum is up 3.62% and is selling at $1,149. Tether, BNB, and Cardano are listed at $0.9993 (0.01% up), $231.75 (3.76% up), and $0.4922 (4.23% up), respectively. Dogecoin is trading at $0.06495, which is up 1.30% than yesterday.
