Sensex climbs to 52,266 points, Nifty settles at 15,557 points
On Thursday, the stock market had a bearish opening but the benchmark Sensex and Nifty indices witnessed a surge. Sensex jumped 0.85% to 52,266, while the Nifty climbed 0.92% to 15,557 points. Who were the biggest gainers and losers?
As far as the top-performing sectors of the market are concerned, NIFTY AUTO, NIFTY CONSUMPTION and NIFTY IT led the way, gaining 4.21%, 2.02%, and 1.92%, respectively. The top gaining stocks were Maruti Suzuki, Hero MotoCorp, and Eicher Motors, adding 6.68%, 6.2%, and 6.02%, respectively. Reliance, Coal India, and Power Grid Corporation lead the negative pack, plummeting 1.48%, 1.09%, and 0.95%, respectively.
INR goes up by 0.05% against the US Dollar
The Indian rupee (INR) gained against the US Dollar, rising 0.05% to 78.34 in forex trade on Thursday. On the other hand, the prices of both gold and silver futures witnessed a decline, with the former slipping 0.28% and the latter shedding 0.9% to settle at Rs. 50,761 and Rs. 60,100, respectively. Crude oil futures fell by 1.26% to $105.26 per barrel.

The Asian markets on Thursday ended in the green. The Shanghai Composite Index, Hang Seng, and Nikkei climbed 1.62%, 1.26%, and 0.08% to settle at 3,320.15 points, 21,273.87 points, and 26,171.25 points, respectively. In the US, NASDAQ witnessed a fall, dropping 0.15%, to 11,053.08 points.

The world's most popular cryptocurrency Bitcoin is selling at $20,658.18, which is up 1.23% compared to yesterday. Meanwhile, Ethereum is up by 1.20% and is currently trading at $1,103.94. Tether, BNB, and Cardano are trading at $0.9992 (0.01% up), $223.35 (4.15% up), and $0.4722 (0.10% up), respectively. Finally, Dogecoin is trading at $0.06412 which is up 2.45% from yesterday.
Fuel prices in Delhi and Mumbai remain unchanged
The fuel prices in Delhi remain unchanged on Thursday, with diesel priced at Rs. 89.66/liter and petrol costing Rs. 96.76/liter. Meanwhile, in Mumbai, diesel costs Rs. 97.26/liter and petrol is priced at Rs. 111.33/liter.
