Sensex climbs to 55,818.11 points, Nifty settles at 16,628 points
On Thursday, the stock market had a bearish opening but the benchmark Sensex and Nifty indices witnessed a surge. The Sensex jumped 0.78% to 55,818.11 points while the Nifty climbed 0.63% to 16,628 points. The midcap indices also showed bullish signals with the Nifty Midcap 50 rising 0.51% to 7,837.6 points. Who were the biggest gainers and losers?
Among the top sector gainers in the stock market were NIFTY ENERGY, NIFTY IT, and NIFTY COMMODITIES, gaining 1.97%, 1.78%, and 1.14%, respectively. On the other hand, the top gaining stocks were Reliance, Bajaj Finserv, and Sun Pharma, adding 3.6%, 3.05%, and 2.47%, respectively. Apollo Hospital, Hero Motocorp, and HDFC emerged as the highest losing stocks, falling 5.04%, 3.41%, and 1.66%, respectively.

Among the Asian markets, both Hang Seng and Nikkei ended in the green, advancing to 21,082.13 points and 27,413.88 points, respectively. As far as the US market is concerned, NASDAQ witnessed a decline, edging 0.72% lower to 11,994.46 points.
INR goes down 0.11% against the US Dollar
On Thursday, the Indian rupee (INR) edged 0.11% lower to Rs. 77.61 versus the US Dollar in the forex trade. Meanwhile, both gold and silver futures witnessed a rise. The price of gold futures rose 0.44% to Rs. 51,012, while that of silver futures climbed 0.63% to Rs. 61,970. The crude oil futures fell by $3.4, or 2.93% to $112.73 per barrel.
Fuel prices in Delhi and Mumbai remain unchanged
The fuel prices in Delhi remain unchanged on Thursday, with diesel priced at Rs. 89.66/liter, and petrol costing Rs. 96.76/liter. Meanwhile, in Mumbai, diesel costs Rs. 97.26/liter and petrol is priced at Rs. 111.33/liter.

The world's most popular cryptocurrency Bitcoin is trading at $29,937.49 which is 5.41% down from yesterday. Meanwhile, Ethereum is down by 6.15% and is trading at $1,821.34. Tether, BNB, and Cardano are listed at $0.9994 (flat), $303.65 (5.08% down), and $0.578 (6.23% down), respectively. Finally, Dogecoin is trading 6.78% lower than yesterday at $0.08118.
