Sensex closes at 74,482 points, Nifty settles above 22,600 mark
The stock market closed on a negative note on Tuesday. While the Sensex fell by 0.25% to settle at 74,482.78 points, the Nifty tumbled by 0.17% to end at 22,604.85 points. Who were the biggest winners and losers?
Among the top sector gainers in the stock market were NIFTY AUTO, NIFTY REALTY, and NIFTY PSE, gaining 1.78%, 1.43%, and 0.55%, respectively. Meanwhile, the top stock gainers were M&M, Power Grid Corporation, and Shriram Finance, which climbed 4.44%, 2.71%, and 2.38%, respectively. Tech Mahindra, Dr Reddys Labs, and HCL Tech emerged as the most losing stocks, falling 2.08%, 1.68%, and 1.68%, respectively.

Moving on to Asian markets, Hang Seng rose 0.09% to 17,763.03 points and Nikkei edged up 1.23% to 38,405.66 points. The Shanghai Composite Index plunged 0.26% to 3,104.82 points. In the US, NASDAQ ended on a positive note, surging 0.35%, to 15,983.08 points.
INR goes up 0.05% against the US Dollar
The Indian Rupee (INR) on Tuesday strengthened 0.05% to settle at ₹83.44 against the US Dollar in the forex trade. The prices of both gold and silver futures witnessed a decline, with the former slipping 0.87% and the latter shedding 1.26% to settle at ₹70,982 and ₹79,835, respectively. Meanwhile, the crude oil future prices surged by $0.22, or 0.26% to $82.9 per barrel.
Fuel prices in Delhi and Mumbai
Fuel prices in Delhi remain unchanged on Tuesday, with diesel priced at ₹87.66 per liter, and petrol at ₹94.76 per liter. Meanwhile, in Mumbai, diesel costs ₹92.13 per liter, and petrol is priced at ₹104.19 per liter.

Bitcoin is selling at $61,545.74, down 1.56% from yesterday. Ethereum is currently trading at $3,042.07, down 4.23%. Tether, BNB, and Cardano are listed at $0.9998 (0.03% down), $584.54 (0.62% down), and $0.4413 (2.76% down), respectively. Down 2.13% from yesterday, Dogecoin is trading at $0.1387.
