Sensex climbs to 74,340 points, Nifty settles above 22,570
On Thursday, the benchmark Sensex and Nifty indices showed an upward trend. The Sensex rose 0.65% to 74,339.44 points while the Nifty gained 0.74% to end at 22,570.35 points. Who were the biggest gainers and losers on Thursday?
As far as the top sector gainers are concerned, NIFTY PSU BANK, NIFTY PHARMA and NIFTY PSE topped the list, edging up 3.64%, 1.55% and 1.31%, respectively. Axis Bank, Dr Reddys Labs and SBI emerged as the top performing stocks, gaining 6.04%, 5.03% and 5.03%, respectively. Kotak Mahindra, LTIMindtree and HUL were trading among the top stock losers, shedding 10.73%, 1.9% and 1.13%, respectively.
Forex report and gold, silver, crude oil futures
The Indian rupee (INR) gained against the US dollar, rising 0.01% to 83.32 in forex trade on Thursday. Meanwhile, not much movement was witnessed in the gold and silver futures prices as they were trading flat. While the gold price settled at Rs. 71,042, the price for silver ended at Rs. 80,670. Crude oil futures also ended flat at $82.83 per barrel.
Fuel prices in Delhi and Mumbai on Thursday
Fuel prices in Delhi saw no change on Thursday, with diesel priced at ₹87.66 per liter and petrol at ₹94.76 per liter. In Mumbai, diesel sells for ₹92.13 per liter and petrol costs ₹104.19 per liter.
