Sensex closes at 73,738 points, Nifty settles near 22,370 mark

On Tuesday, major indices of the stock market ended in the green.
While the Sensex climbed 0.12% to settle at 73,738.45 points, the Nifty rose 0.14% to close at 22,368 points.
The midcap stocks also showed a bullish stance as the Nifty Midcap 50 gained 0.72% to close at 13,780.65 points.

Who were the biggest winners and losers?
Among the top sector gainers in the stock market were NIFTY REALTY, NIFTY CONSUMPTION, and NIFTY FMCG, gaining 2.52%, 0.78%, and 0.75%, respectively.
Meanwhile, Grasim, Bharti Airtel, and Nestle emerged as the biggest stock gainers, adding 3.78%, 3.66%, and 1.58%, respectively.
Among the biggest stock losers were Sun Pharma, BPCL, and Reliance, which plunged 3.51%, 1.71%, and 1.41%, respectively.

Moving on to the Asian markets, the Hang Seng rose 1.89% to 16,828.93 points and Nikkei edged up 0.3% to 37,552.16 points. The Shanghai Composite Index plunged 0.75% to 3,021.98 points. In the US, NASDAQ witnessed a surge, edging 1% higher to 15,434.9 points.

INR goes up 0.05% against the US Dollar
The Indian Rupee (INR) on Tuesday strengthened 0.05% to settle at ₹83.33 against the US Dollar in the forex trade.
The gold and silver futures prices finished in red. While the gold futures dropped to ₹70,333, silver futures tumbled to settle at ₹79,517.
The crude oil futures were trading flat to settle at $82.11 per barrel.
