Sensex gains 560 points, Nifty settles above 22,330 mark
On Monday, the benchmark Sensex and Nifty indices saw gains. While the Sensex rose 0.77% to 73,648.62 points, the Nifty jumped 0.86% to 22,336.4 points. Also, the midcap indices showed positive signals with the Nifty Midcap 50 gaining 85.8 points, or 0.63%, to close at 13,681.25 points. Here's all you need to know about Monday's market report.
Who were the biggest gainers and losers?
As far as the top-performing sectors of the market are concerned, NIFTY PSU BANK, NIFTY PHARMA, and NIFTY INFRA led the way, gaining 2.98%, 1.28%, and 1%, respectively. The biggest stock gainers were TATA Consumer Products, BPCL, and Larsen, which climbed 3.32%, 3.17%, and 2.89%, respectively. NTPC, HDFC Bank, and JSW Steel led the negative pack, shedding 1.83%, 1.06%, and 0.94%, respectively.

In the Asian markets, the Hang Seng Index and the Nikkei slipped to 16,511.69 points and 37,438.61 points, respectively. Meanwhile, the Shanghai Composite Index soared 0.68% to 3,044.6 points. In the US market, NASDAQ shed 319.49 points, or 2.05%, to 15,282.01 points.
INR goes up 0.13% against US Dollar
The Indian Rupee (INR) climbed 0.13% to end at ₹83.37 against the US Dollar in the forex trade on Monday. Meanwhile, both gold and silver futures slipped, with the prices of gold and silver dropping to ₹71,929 and ₹81,914, respectively. On the other hand, the crude oil futures fell by $0.88, or 1.06% to $81.85 per barrel.
Fuel prices in Delhi and Mumbai
Fuel prices remained unchanged on Monday. In Delhi, diesel is priced at ₹87.66 per liter, and petrol at ₹94.76 per liter. In Mumbai, diesel and petrol cost ₹92.13 per liter and ₹104.19 per liter, respectively.

Bitcoin is currently trading at $65,926.67, a 1.50% increase from yesterday. Ethereum is up 1.39% and is trading at $3,215.44. Tether, BNB, and Cardano are trading at $1.00 (0.04% up), $605.34 (4.32% up), and $0.5092 (1.47% up), respectively. Finally, Dogecoin is trading 1.05% lower than yesterday at $0.1602.
