Sensex gains nearly 600 points, Nifty settles near 22,150 mark
On Friday, the benchmark Sensex and Nifty indices opened in red but reversed the trend to record gains. While the Sensex rose 0.83% to 73,088.33 points, the Nifty jumped 0.69% to 22,147 points. The broader market largely traded flat but the midcap stocks were in a bearish mode as the Nifty Midcap 50 dropped 91.6 points to 13,595.45 points.
Who were the biggest winners and losers?
As far as the top performing sectors of the market are concerned, NIFTY FINANCIAL SERVICE, NIFTY PVT BANK, and NIFTY BANK led the way, gaining 1.29%, 1.1%, and 1.06%, respectively. Bajaj Finance, M&M, and Maruti Suzuki were the biggest stock gainers, adding 3.28%, 2.86%, and 2.47%, respectively. Biggest stock losers were Bajaj Auto, HCL Tech, and Nestle, which plunged 2.4%, 1.32%, and 1.01%, respectively.

Among the Asian markets, the Hang Seng Index shed 161.73 points to 16,224.14 points, while the Nikkei gained 1,011.35 points to 37,068.35 points. In the US market, NASDAQ witnessed a fall, dropping 81.87 points or 0.52% to 15,601.5 points.
INR goes up 0.1% against US dollar
The Indian rupee (INR) appreciated by 0.1% to close at ₹83.47 against the US dollar in the forex trade on Friday. The gold and silver futures prices closed on a flat note, with the former settling at ₹72,530, and the latter at ₹83,179. On the other hand, the crude oil futures slipped 0.61% to $82.56 per barrel on MCX.
Fuel prices in Delhi and Mumbai
Fuel prices remained unchanged on Friday. In Delhi, diesel is priced at ₹87.66 per liter, and petrol at ₹94.76 per liter. In Mumbai, diesel and petrol cost ₹92.13 per liter and ₹104.19 per liter, respectively.

Bitcoin is trading at $64,927.63, which is 5.39% up from yesterday. Ethereum is up 3.51%, and is selling at $3,109.59. Tether, BNB, and Cardano are priced at $1.00 (0.04% up), $559.25 (2.60% up), and $0.4626 (3.93% up), respectively. Finally, Dogecoin is trading 5.06% higher than yesterday at $0.1523.
