On Tuesday, the benchmark Sensex and Nifty indices were on a downward trend. While Sensex plunged 0.62% to 72,943.68 points, the Nifty fell 0.56% to 22,147.9 points. As far as the top-performing sectors of the market are concerned, NIFTY MEDIA, NIFTY MNC, and NIFTY PSE led the way, gaining 1.55%, 0.5%, and 0.5%, respectively. The top stock gainers were Eicher Motors, Divis Labs, and Titan Company, which climbed 3.23%, 1.28%, and 1.26%, respectively. Infosys, IndusInd Bank, and LTIMindtree were trading among the top stock losers, shedding 3.66%, 3.18%, and 3.16%, respectively.

The Indian Rupee (INR) slipped 0.08% to settle at ₹83.58 against the US Dollar in the forex trade on Tuesday. On the other hand, the gold futures prices soared ₹312, or 0.43%, to ₹72,589, while the silver futures traded flat at ₹83,721. The crude oil futures were mostly flat, ending at $85.13 per barrel.
