Sensex closes at 74,684 points, Nifty settles above 22,640 mark
On Tuesday, major indices of the stock market ended in the red. While the Sensex fell 0.07% to settle at 74,683.70 points, the Nifty tumbled 0.1% to end at 22,642.75 points. Who were the biggest gainers and losers?
The winning sectors in the stock market were NIFTY METAL, NIFTY REALTY, and NIFTY PVT BANK, which rose 1.12%, 0.53%, and 0.44%, respectively. The top stock gainers were Apollo Hospitals, Hindalco, and ICICI Bank, which climbed 3.17%, 2.05%, and 1.81%, respectively. Meanwhile, Titan Company, Hero MotoCorp, and Coal India were trading among the top stock losers on Tuesday, shedding 1.86%, 1.63%, and 1.5%, respectively.

Coming to Asian markets, both Shanghai Composite Index and Nikkei on Tuesday traded in red, slipping to 3,048.54 points and 39,773.13 points, respectively. Meanwhile, the Hang Seng Index jumped 0.57% to 16,828.07 points. Meanwhile, in the US, NASDAQ gained 0.03% to 16,253.03 points.
INR goes down 0.01% against the US Dollar
The Indian Rupee (INR) slipped 0.01% to settle at ₹83.21 against the US Dollar in the forex trade on Tuesday. Both gold and silver futures witnessed a rise. The price of gold futures rose 1.07% to ₹71,670, while that of silver futures climbed 1.04% to ₹82,730. Meanwhile, the crude oil future prices surged by $0.38, or 0.45% to $86.56 per barrel.
Fuel prices in Delhi, Mumbai
Fuel prices in Delhi remain unchanged on Tuesday with diesel priced at ₹87.66 per liter, and petrol at ₹94.76 per liter. Meanwhile, in Mumbai, diesel costs ₹92.13 per liter, and petrol is priced at ₹104.19 per liter.
