Sensex crosses 74,600 mark, Nifty settles below 22,650
The stock market on Thursday ended on a sluggish note but in the green. The Sensex gained 128.33 points to settle at 74,611.11 points and the Nifty stood at 22,648.2 points, after adding 43.35. Who were the biggest winners and losers on Thursday?
Among the top sector gainers in the stock market were NIFTY PSE, NIFTY AUTO and NIFTY METAL, gaining 2.24%, 1.12% and 1.12%, respectively. The biggest stock gainers were BPCL, Power Grid Corp and Asian Paints, which climbed 4.56%, 3.74% and 3.27%, respectively. Kotak Mahindra Bank, Tata Consumer Products and Bharti Airtel emerged the biggest losers, dropping 2.93%, 1.55% and 1.49%, respectively.

Among the Asian markets, both Hang Seng Index and Nikkei ended in green, advancing to 18,207.13 points and 38,236.07 points, respectively. In the US market, NASDAQ ended in the red, falling 52.34 points, or 0.33%, to 15,605.48 points.
Forex report and gold, silver, crude oil futures
On Thursday, the Indian rupee (INR) edged 0.01% lower to ₹83.46 versus the US dollar in the forex trade. The gold futures witnessed little movement, ending flat at ₹70,641, while the silver futures tumbled 0.45% to ₹79,511. Coming to the crude oil futures, the prices soared 0.53% to settle at $79.76 per barrel.
Fuel prices in Delhi and Mumbai on Thursday
Fuel prices in Delhi saw no change on Thursday, with diesel priced at ₹87.66 per liter and petrol at ₹94.76 per liter. In Mumbai, diesel remained steady at ₹92.13 per liter and petrol at ₹104.19 per liter.
