Sensex gains 184 points, Nifty settles above 18,800 mark
The stock market on Thursday ended on a sluggish note as the Sensex settled at 63,284.19 points and the Nifty stood at 18,812.5 points. Who were the biggest winners and losers?
On Thursday, NIFTY IT, NIFTY PSU BANK, and NIFTY MEDIA emerged as the top-performing sectors, rising 2.34%, 2.07%, and 2.03%, respectively. UltraTech Cement, Hindalco, and Tata Steel emerged as the top-performing stocks, edging up 2.98%, 2.81%, and 2.79%, respectively. Among the biggest stock losers were UPL, Eicher Motors, and ICICI Bank, which slipped 1.37%, 1.36%, and 1.35%, respectively.
INR goes up by 0.26% against the US Dollar
The Indian rupee (INR) on Thursday strengthened 0.26% to settle at Rs. 81.21 against the US dollar in the forex trade. The prices of both gold and silver futures witnessed a surge. While the former soared 0.89% to Rs. 52,945, the latter jumped 1.22% to Rs. 63,000. The crude oil future prices declined by $0.25, or 0.3% to $80.67 per barrel.

Fuel prices in Delhi and Mumbai remain the same
The fuel prices in Delhi remain unchanged on Thursday with diesel priced at Rs. 89.66/liter and petrol at Rs. 96.76/liter. In Mumbai, diesel costs Rs. 94.25/liter, while petrol is selling for Rs. 106.29/liter.
