Sachin Tendulkar's SRT Android phone is out
Sachin Tendulkar's Android phone, called SRT (Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar) has been released in India. The phone has been made and sold by Smartron, an IoT start-up in which Tendulkar is a strategic investor. The phone's back panel sports a picture of the young Tendulkar along with his signature. This is the latest in Sachin's business ventures after his retirement from cricket.
What are the phone's specifications?
Sources said that the dual-SIM compatible phone is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 processor. It comes with 4GB of RAM and is available in 2 variants; 32GB for Rs. 12,999 and 64GB for Rs. 13,999. It has a 13 megapixel rear camera and a 5 megapixel front camera. It has a 3,000mAh battery with Quick Charge 2.0 support and USB Type-C charging.
Competition for Moto?
Sources said that phone is marketed to be a competitor for the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4, Moto G5 and Moto G5 Plus smart phones, by providing a near stock Android Nougat experience at such a low price-point. It is available for sale exclusively on Flipkart.
