Flipkart's Sachin Bansal eyes lobby group for start-ups
Flipkart's co-founder Sachin Bansal is eyeing the possibility of creating a lobby group for start-ups across the country. Reports revealed that Bansal is in talks with various Indian entrepreneurs and other investors to launch the group. The aim will be to represent the varied interest of the many internet start-ups based in India, to serve as an association.

Flipkart is one of India's biggest e-commerce retailer founded in early 2007. The company was founded by Sachin Bansal and Binny Bansal, former employees of Amazon. Initially when the company started out, the founders used to deliver the products personally to their customers at their doorsteps. Nine years later, Flipkart has grown to clock revenues of over $1.5 billion.

Sachin Bansal is an Indian entrepreneur and engineer, who co-founded one of the largest online marketplaces in India, Flipkart. Hailing from Chandigarh, Sachin graduated from IIT-Delhi and had his first professional stint at an engineering company before joining Amazon as a software engineer. A year later, the engineer turned entrepreneur with the founding of Flipkart and soon scripted his net worth to $1.3 billion.
Lobby group plans ongoing for a year
"The discussions are in early stages and it is still not clear what the agenda behind the alliance is. Sachin has been thinking about this lobby group for over a year now", according to the report's sources.
Who all are involved?
Reports revealed that Sachin Bansal approached Snapdeal founder Kunal Bahl, Paytm's Vijay Shekhar Sharma, Ola's Bhavish Aggarwal and leaders of other association for discussions. Quikr's Pranay Chulet and Hike's Kavin Bharti Mittal were also engaged in talks over this. Sachin Bansal also spoke to Nandan Nilekani, former chief executive of tech giant Infosys, reports said. Software think tanks are also involved in the discussions.
