SUV Renault Triber unveiled in India: Here's everything to know
French automaker Renault has unveiled its much-anticipated seven-seater Triber at an event in New Delhi, India. The subcompact SUV arrives as the company's second seven-seater in India after the Renault Lodgy. Meanwhile, it is expected to go on sale in the country sometime later this year. Here is our roundup.
Let's take a look at the Renault Triber
The Renault Triber looks like a bigger version of the KWID. However, it features a different front grille, a sculpted clamshell bonnet, and chrome finished alloy wheels. The crossover comes with projector headlamps along with LED daytime running lights and roof rails. Moreover, it has a kerb weight of 947kg and ground clearance of 182mm.
Inside the cabin
Inside, the seven-seater Renault Triber features a dual-tone cabin with Beige and Black color schemes along with a multi-functional steering wheel. The subcompact SUV comes with a digital instrument console along with the start-stop button, and keyless entry with auto-lock function. The Triber also gets an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with support for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
Renault Triber: On the road
The Renault Triber offers ABS along with the EBD for better road handling. The cabin comes equipped with four airbags, a child safety lock and three-point seatbelts for all rows. Also, the crossover comes with a speed warning system, rear parking sensors, and a 360-degree camera to have a better view while driving.
Power and performance
The Renault Triber is powered by a 1.0-litre three-cylinder petrol engine which is capable of 71bhp of power at 6,250rpm and 96Nm of peak torque at 3,500 rpm. The engine is mated to two transmission options: a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed automated manual transmission (AMT). The former promises a mileage of 20kmpl, while the latter 20.5kmpl.
Finally, what will be the pricing?
As for the pocket pinch, the Renault Triber is expected to arrive at a price range of Rs. 5.5 lakh to Rs. 7 lakh. However, the official pricing hasn't been revealed by the company at the moment.
