Xiaomi sells 1 million units of Redmi Note 8 series
What's the story
Xiaomi's budget-friendly mid-rangers, the Redmi Note 8 Pro and Redmi Note 8, which recently went official in India, have received a great response from buyers.
Xiaomi India's chief, Manu Kumar Jain, has posted a tweet from his official account revealing that the company has managed to sell over 1 million units of these handsets in just a month.

What do these handsets offer?
To recall, both Redmi Note 8 Pro and Redmi Note 8 smartphones sport an all-glass body featuring a waterdrop notched design with a thin bottom chin to offer over 90% screen-to-body ratio.
The Note 8 Pro and Note 8 models feature 6.53-inch and 6.39-inch LCD displays with full-HD+ resolution, respectively.
In addition, both the phones also house a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner for secure unlocking.
Cameras
The smartphones offer impressive quad rear cameras
Redmi Note 8 Pro and Note 8 boast of a quad rear camera setup comprising 64MP (f/1.9) and 48MP (f/1.8) primary sensors, respectively.
The main cameras are further accompanied by an 8MP (f/2.2) ultra-wide-angle sensor, 2MP (f/2.4) dedicated macro lens, and another 2MP (f/2.4) depth sensor.
Up front, the Pro model houses a 20MP selfie snapper, while the standard variant sports a 13MP shooter.
Internals
Both models pack fast processors and powerful batteries
The Redmi Note 8 Pro is powered by Helio G90T processor, while the standard Note 8 draws power from a Snapdragon 665 chipset.
Both handsets offer upto 8GB RAM (6GB on standard Note 8) and upto 256GB storage.
Further, the Pro model packs a solid 4,500mAh battery, while the standard Note 8 houses a smaller 4,000mAh battery. Both of them offer 18W fast-charging support.

As for the pricing, the Redmi Note 8 Pro comes at a starting price of Rs. 14,999 for the 6GB/64GB variant and goes upto Rs. 17,999 for the 8GB/128GB model.
The Redmi Note 8, on the other hand, is priced at Rs. 9,999 for the entry-level 4GB/64GB model and Rs. 12,999 for the range-topping 6GB/128GB variant.
