Xiaomi Redmi Note 5, Note 5 Pro go on sale
Redmi Note 5 and Note 5 Pro, Xiaomi's latest budget smartphones boasting flagship-like features, finally went on sale for the first time in India via Flipkart and the official Mi.com website. The 6GB RAM Note 5 Pro offers more powerful and premium specs than Note 5. The recently-launched devices (in limited quantities) would be available at Mi Home stores, too. Here's all about them.
What does Redmi Note 5 have to offer?
Redmi Note 5 sports a 5.99-inch 18:9 Full-HD display with 2.5D curved glass. It is powered by Snapdragon 625 SoC with 3GB or 4GB of RAM, and 32GB or 64GB internal storage. It also packs a huge 4,000mAh battery. Running the Android Nougat-based MIUI 9, the dual-SIM device supports 4G VoLTE connectivity. The phone also has 3.5mm audio jack and a rear-facing fingerprint sensor.
Redmi Note 5 has LED selfie flash module
The Redmi Note 5 features a 5MP front-facing camera along with an LED selfie light and Beautify 3.0 technology. On the back, the smartphone has a 12MP camera with f/2.2 aperture, PDAF (Phase Detection Autofocus), and EIS (Electronics Image Stabilization) as well.

The Redmi Note 5 Pro has a few features similar to that of Note 5; it has the same 5.99-inch Full-HD display, 4,000mAh battery, and runs Nougat-based MIUI 9, too. It is powered by the octa-core Snapdragon 636 processor paired with 4GB or 6GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. The Snapdragon 636 SoC makes Note 5 Pro the fastest Redmi Note ever.
Redmi Note 5 Pro has iPhoneX-like dual rear camera
Coming to the optics, the Redmi Note 5 Pro has a 20MP Sony IMX376 camera and an LED selfie light. On the back, the smartphone features a dual camera setup with 12MP+5MP sensors that are arranged vertically in an iPhone X-style design.
What about the price of these latest phones?
The Redmi Note 5 is priced at Rs. 9,999 for the 3GB+32GB variant while the 4GB+64GB model of the Note 4 successor comes for Rs. 11,999. Coming to the Note 5 Pro, the 4GB RAM model is available at Rs. 13,999, and the 6GB RAM variant costs Rs, 16,999. Both the devices come in Black, Gold, Lake Blue, and Rose Gold color options.
Buyers can avail these additional launch offers
Launching the latest Redmi Note devices, Xiaomi announced its partnership with Reliance Jio for the "Jio #GiveMe5 Offer" with the new devices. Under this bundled offer, customers get Rs. 2,200-worth cashback vouchers and 4.5TB 4G data from Jio. Buyers can also get an ultra-slim case along with the smartphones. On Flipkart, Axis Bank Buzz Credit Cardholders can get an additional discount of 5%.
When is the next sale?
Those who missed the chance to buy a Redmi Note 5 or Note 5 Pro during the first sale can again try on 28 February at 12 noon. Flipkart also has an option to notify its users about the next sale of the Redmi devices.
