PM Internship Scheme 2024 registration ends tomorrow: How to apply
The registration window for the PM Internship Scheme 2024 will close on November 10. The scheme provides youngsters a one-year exposure to real-world business environments in different professions and job opportunities. More than 500 companies such as Adani Group, Coca-Cola, Deloitte, Mahindra Group, Maruti Suzuki, PepsiCo, HDFC Bank etc. have enrolled themselves under this scheme. The scheme is part of a larger government effort to equip youth with professional experience and skills for their future careers.
Eligibility criteria for PM Internship Scheme 2024
To be eligible for PM Internship Scheme 2024, candidates should have completed high school/higher secondary school, hold ITI certificate, diploma from a Polytechnic Institute, or be graduates with degrees such as BA, B.Sc., B.Com., BCA, BBA, and B.Pharma etc. The age limit is between 21-24 years as on the last date of application submission. Applicants must be Indian nationals, not full-time employed/engaged in full-time education. Those in online/distance learning programs can also apply.
How to apply for PM Internship Scheme 2024
To apply, candidates should head to the official website of the PM Internship Scheme and click on the register link. After entering their registration details and submitting them, the portal will generate a resume based on this information. Applicants can then apply for up to five internship opportunities depending on their preferences for location, sector, functional role, and qualifications. Once done, download and keep a hard copy of the confirmation page for future reference.
PM Internship Scheme 2024 offers 80,000 opportunities
The PM Internship Scheme 2024 will provide a total of 80,000 internships in 24 sectors. This initiative is being led by top companies including Mahindra & Mahindra, L&T, Tata Group, and Jubilant FoodWorks. The sectors in which the internships will be provided include banking, financial services, oil and energy, FMCG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods), manufacturing as well as travel and hospitality. There is no registration/application fee for the scheme.
Interns to receive monthly stipend of ₹5,000
Interns under the PM Internship Scheme 2024 will be paid a monthly stipend of ₹5,000. The host company will pay ₹500 from their CSR funds, while the government will pay the rest ₹4,500. Interns will also receive one-time financial support of ₹6,000 to meet incidental expenses. The scheme also follows reservation policies for SC, ST, and OBC. The new initiative aims to provide one crore internships over the next five years.
