Could be top contender in premium smartphone segment
OnePlus 5T features a 6.01-inch 1080p 18:9 Optic AMOLED full-screen immersive display, minimal bezels, and Gorilla Glass 5 protection. It is powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor, paired with 6GB/8GB RAM and 64GB/128GB internal storage. It runs on Android 7.1 Nougat-based OxygenOS 4.7 and packs a massive 3,300mAh battery that supports "Dash Charging" to deliver 19% battery in only 6 minutes.
Our best camera released yet: OnePlus
The camera-hardware specs of OnePlus 5T are similar (yet upgraded) to that of its predecessor, OnePlus 5. Its 20MP+16MP dual primary camera setup with Intelligent Pixel Technology on the back focuses on improving low-light performance and portrait photography. It comes with a 16MP selfie shooter on the front. Also, for better image and video stabilization, OnePlus 5T has refined Electronic Image Stability (EIS).
Device comes with facial recognition feature
OnePlus 5T has "Face Unlock" feature to unlock the device within 0.4 seconds. OnePlus claims "Face Unlock" is very reliable and works with 99% accuracy as long as it can detect the user's face and nose. It can identify and memorize 100 points (facial-identifiers) on the user's face. However, it doesn't work for authentication of sensitive information for mobile payments, unlocking banking apps, etc.
Other features, connectivity options
To accommodate the "immersive full-screen" of the OnePlus 5T, the device maker has moved the front-facing fingerprint scanner to the rear panel. The device supports 4G LTE and dual SIM (Nano) connectivity. It has a USB 2.0 Type-C port. OnePlus has also retained the 3.5mm headphone jack on its latest device. Sadly, the OnePlus 5T doesn't have a microSD slot to expand the storage.
