Nokia, the Finnish telecommunications giant, is set to establish its largest global research and development (R&D) facility in Chennai. An investment of approximately ₹450 crore is expected to be channeled into this project, according to The Economic Times.
Facility to boost innovations in fixed networks
The upcoming R&D facility is set to bolster Nokia's technological innovations in several areas. These include 10G, 25G, 50G, and 100 GPON, Fixed Wireless Access, Wi-Fi and MDU solutions, as well as access network and home controllers. The Tamil Nadu government has played a crucial role in facilitating this expansion by providing the necessary infrastructure, regulatory support, and policy alignment.
