All-new Nissan Kicks SUV unveiled in India; launches early 2019
What's the story
Nissan has finally taken wraps off the Indian variant of the Kicks subcompact SUV.
This all-new model, bound to launch in January next year, is significantly different from the international variant of Kicks that is already available in other markets.
Notably, the India-specific Kicks will be locally manufactured at Renault and Nissan's jointly owned plant in Chennai.

Nissan Kicks (India variant): At a glance
Based on the company's B0 platform, the India-specific variant is bigger than the global variants with a wheelbase of 2,673mm and a ground clearance of over 200mm.
Up front, the subcompact SUV sports the signature V-motion grille, large projector headlights with boomerang-shaped DRLs, extended claddings and sharp LED foglamps.
At the rear, there's distinct LED taillamps, curved tailgate, and a large bumper with diffuser.
Interiors
Inside the cabin
Nissan has confirmed that the Indian bound Kicks will have slightly tweaked interiors and a roomier cabin than its international counterpart - thanks to the larger frame.
Moreover, the automaker has said the car will come equipped with a bunch of connectivity features specific to the Indian market.
So, we can expect Android Auto and Apple CarPlay based infotainment system among other tech features.
Engine and power
Under the hood
The India-specific Nissan Kicks will share the petrol and diesel engine available on Nissan's Terrano along with transmission options of 5-speed manual, 6-speed manual, and an AMT unit.
The petrol model will be powered by a 1.6-liter, four-cylinder engine which delivers 103bhp, while the diesel variant will get the 1.5-liter mill that churns out 84bhp or 108bhp depending on the tuning.
